I am a registered GP in Almería (no. 04/2884521) and I see patients in English at home, at hotels and in holiday flats in Almería city, Roquetas de Mar, Aguadulce, El Ejido, Vícar and Níjar. A home visit can deal with fever, infections, stomach upsets, minor injuries, blood pressure checks, prescriptions and written reports for your travel insurance. For chest pain, breathing difficulty or signs of stroke, call 112 straight away.
Who it is for
- Tourists who fall ill on holiday and do not want to spend hours in A&E.
- Foreign residents still waiting for their public health card, or who prefer to be seen in English.
- Older people and families who find it hard to get to a clinic.
What I can treat at home
- Fever, sore throat, ear, chest and urinary infections.
- Stomach upsets, diarrhoea and dehydration.
- Sunburn, heat exhaustion, insect bites and minor injuries.
- Blood pressure or blood sugar checks and review of your usual medication.
- Private prescriptions when appropriate.
When to call 112 instead
Do not wait for a home visit if there is chest pain, difficulty breathing, signs of stroke (face drooping, weak arm, slurred speech), loss of consciousness, heavy bleeding or a serious accident. Call 112: they answer in English.
Reports for travel insurance and airlines
After the visit I give you a written medical report in English with the diagnosis and treatment, which most travel insurers ask for to reimburse costs. If you need to fly after an illness or injury, I can assess you and complete the airline medical form (MEDIF) or a fit-to-fly letter when it is medically appropriate. For other certificates, see medical certificate in Almería.
How to book
- Message me on WhatsApp in English with your symptoms, address and a contact phone.
- I confirm the price and an estimated arrival time before I come.
- I examine you, treat you and give you the written report.
